Happy Herdr

A GUI for agent teams on Herdr

Your coding agents, working as a team.

Happy Herdr gives each project a standing team: an Orchestrator and the Members it delegates to, each a long-lived Claude Code, Codex, or pi session in its own Herdr tab. Watch the whole team at once, step into any terminal, and hand off work from one window.

The Team view: the Orchestrator's card above four Member cards, each with its status, current Task and the last lines of its terminal; below them, a Todo's progress through the Team.

How it works

From an empty workspace to a working team.

  1. Build a Team

Open a Herdr workspace for your project and click Build Team. A Team-building session reads the project — docs, layout, build and tests, skills — and works out with you a Team that fits, starting from the closest built-in template. Nothing is written until you agree.

  2. Bring it online

Every Member gets its own named tab and a long-lived agent session. Take the Team offline whenever you like; next time, each Member resumes its conversation.

  3. Hand off a Todo

Type a Todo for the Orchestrator. It splits the work and delegates down the tree; each Member hands its Result back to whoever asked. You see where the work is, right now.

Building a Team: the Team-building session has written the Team and brought it online — an Orchestrator and a Coder appear above its dashed card.

What you get

See everything. Step in anywhere.

Step into any terminal

Click a Member to attach to its real terminal. Read along, type straight into it, answer the prompt it is waiting on — then close the panel. The session keeps running in Herdr.

A Member's panel: its context and token usage, its current Task, and its live terminal attached beside the Team.

You decide how the Team changes

Only you change the Team. When the work calls for a reviewer, a sharper responsibility, or one Member fewer, the Orchestrator proposes it — and you see every change on the canvas before you approve or reject.

Reviewing a Team change proposal: the reason, one adjusted Member, one new Member drawn dashed on the canvas, one Member to remove, and Approve and Reject buttons.

A steward keeps work moving

A background steward checks that every hand-off was actually submitted, nudges a Member that has stopped while holding a Task, brings back an agent session that exited, and tells you when nudging doesn't help.

The steward's panel: a Result waiting to be delivered, a nudge sent to a quiet Member, and how usage was collected on its last round.

Every Task on the record

Tasks carry requirements, deliverables and acceptance criteria. Results, timings and token usage stay in the project — per Member, per Task, and for every Todo you hand off.

A Todo's record: in progress for 20 minutes, with its token usage across the Tasks it was delegated into.

Context under control

See how full each session's context is. Compact it, or rotate to a fresh session that starts from a handoff summary.

Reminders when you look away

A desktop notification when a Member waits for you, a proposal arrives, or your Todo comes back.

A CLI for your agents

Members delegate with the herdr-team command that ships inside the app. You never need to install or type it.

Your themes

Light and dark themes of its own, your own theme files, your Otty themes, and Ghostty's terminal themes.

Why “Happy”

Remote is where this is going.

The name nods to Happy, the remote control for coding agents. Happy Herdr starts on the Mac that runs Herdr; the plan is to reach your Team from anywhere.
